It is too early to say.
What I do know is that France is not reaching its potential. Sarkozy may be able to do that, but the question is will he destroy the French way of life doing so?

In the UK, I remember a time when Sundays were not for shopping, when many shops would be closed an a half day and when life was more relaxed, less frantic. Sarkozy may want to make France lose traditions like that, and France needs to decide if it wants to do that.

So, I am keeping an open mind.

Personally I would be grateful if your President did as one of his forbears did (he stopped our entry into the EEC) and got us thrown out of the EU. That would make him a hero in England and would lead to his statue replacing Mandela in Trafalgar Square. However at present I do not know anything about French politics and have even less interest.

From what I've seen and read of him, a man to given full credit. If you don't want him, send to the U.K. My French hasn't had any use for over 35 years, otherwise I'd have replied to your question in that language.

I have not heard of Sarkozy but hopefully he does for you what ever it was that you voted him in for. What do you think as you do not let us know what your thoughts are.

My two main objections are:his call for state help for muslims to build mosques and his admiration for Tony B-liar (traitor). I admire his tough stance on immigration but time will tell if he is strong enough to endure.
