I am not sure that I completely understand your question, but I will do my best to answer it. I gather that you are requesting information on how I would view diversity in the workplace? Well, when I think of the word diversity, I think of people from many different cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. This tells me that not everybody is going to have the same values as I do; not everyone will observe the same holidays that I do, and not everyone is going to be caucasion and of European descent, as I am. I am fine with this though, because I do not judge others based on these factors and that is something of great importance to anyone who is in a human resource or general management position. When you hear the word diversity, you should automatically associate it with non-discrimination. You need to remember that if two candidates apply for the same position and both are equally qualified, after you conduct the interview, if one candidate is light skinned and the other is dark skinned, you must put skin tone aside and base your judgment on each candidates personality and ability to fit into the company. When it comes to holidays and certain groups observe Hanukkah and others Christmas, etc. - you have a holiday party- this takes into account all religious backgrounds. Then you just remember that you treat everyone as an equal and your employees should be relatively happy.

Well being diverse isn't limited to the work force...what are you needing to know specifically? What to do about holiday parties or office gatherings?

Basic human kindness and respect. No matter what culture you are.
