It's only illegal to use it on people and the admin has been working very hard to make these individuals in-human. This is something that pre-dates the inquisition, demonizing your enemy to justify the most heinous treatment.
RITCH: sorry dude but once you decide that you're superior to someone else and use it to justify things that would be unacceptable to be done to yourself then you have betrayed your creator and for that I pity you.

I think that support for Waterboarding is more bipartisan. Generally the ones who support this practice come from districts that are want more security and are willing to sacrifice some human dignity to get it.

Not a good trade - but politics is politics.

My theory is that's it's closely tied to the influence of the right-wing religious coalitions that have infiltrated and exert so much influence within the Republican Party. Religious definitions of 'morality' and 'values' tend to be self-righteous and applicable only to the religion used as the basis. Therefore, a morality that is based on a spiritual view of ALL humans would deem torture as morally wrong. A morality based on a specific religion is able to justify torture of 'others'. This also explains why the more morality and values are tied to religion, the less moral and ethical that we, as a nation, become in our actions.

You mean in the two or three times it's been used with positive results on subhuman filth? Yep. Sure do. Guess that makes me cruel and sexually repressed, but at least my sexual repression has led to American lives being saved. So I can live with that.

Have a nice day.

ALAN: Sorry dude, but it was the sub-human filth given their actions and motivations, not the administration or the 'media', that made them sub-human filth. Want to be treated like a human being? Act like a human being. It really is that simple.
