thehermanator2003 - Gotta disagree with you that stupid = experimental. No stupid person would have ever gotten through the entire reading of the Kama Sutra. And enjoyable sex doesn't relate to the question, anyway.

It's just a question, folks. And *I* am not the one who sounds "angry."

And I am a firm believer that simply because you were endowed with genitalia does NOT entitle you to bring forth an innocent soul into the universe to destroy and deform and ruin.

I believe parenting is the most difficult job on the planet. And I think it is the highest sin known to man to RUIN an innocent person because YOU are not qualified for the job.

Oddly enough, this was a topic of conversation at the family gathering over the holiday. The general consensus among the adults gathered at my house was no, stupid people shouldn't be allowed to breed.
About 99.99% of the problems in our society is related to bad parenting. It was agreed, however, that stupidity wasn't related to intelligence. It was more related to character of the parents.

The answer is 'NO'. Eugenics is the answer! In the past, eugenics was thought about as a way to breed superior people: a 'Master Race' if you will. As a result of some very, very bad publicity because of that, the theory has been discredited. I think of eugenics as a way to NOT breed defective people rather than trying to breed superior people as an end result. Imagine: with what was known about genetics a hundred years ago, diabetes could have eliminated from the gene pool. Cancer and a host of other genetic illnesses would simply not exist in the world. As for the mentally deficient, the issue would be determining just who and where to draw the line....

Yes, just because the parent is stupid does not mean the child will be. My grandparents were high school drop outs and not very smart but the aunts and uncles all have good jobs and brains.

If anything sometimes being raised by a moron makes the kid be like "man I don't ever want to be like my parents" and they strive harder.

Unfortunately yes. The Economy would be even worse off if stupid people weren't spending money they don't have on junk.

We just need fewer of them in Government and Business Leadership,

I don't know who is going to hand out permission slips, or who gets to decide who is fit to be a parent. Certainly not something we want the government handling! I understand your point, some people just aren't fit to be parents. But then again, some people aren't fit to be grown adult children of older people, either.

I would answer No,..But,...I've been lucky enough to have had sex with a number of very beautiful stupid people, and they're much less inhibited, and more experimental than their smarter sisters.
I liked the one answer re: putting birth control in all the water, then giving the antidote to qualified couples only !

A moot question as no one needs permission.

The idea that some authority could or should be the arbiter of who can bear children and who can't is repugnant, un- American, totalitarian, communist, and fascist all at the same time. As for those who answered that this is a good idea, choose what you are from the above list.

Yes for the reason. A great fear of a group of people in power making decisions of who breeds then eventually why.
However in fantasy no.

Not unless they have a very supportive family or guardians that are going to help raise their children. In other words, NO. I don't think they should be allowed to vote, either.

Hitler already tried that. Unfortunatelly, it seems like they're (stupid people) are the ones that breed the most.
