I have a 125cc, kick start, clutch dirt bike that I got for christmas. I haven't ridden yet hence the problem(its brand new not used). I think that gas isn't getting to the coraberator I have tryed taking a syringe and putting gas in the coraborater, and that's gotten it going for like 5 second's. When it goes I try and gas it but after i release all it does is go off. Ive contacted the company about how to start it and they said since it is a new bike it might take a while for too get it started but its been almost 2 days

It may be that you have flooded the spark plug. I know that they say this doesn't happen with 4 strokes but it can. You may have gotten too much fuel inside the spark plug and it will hinder the process of making a spark needed for combustion. Try taking the spark plug out and drying it with a lighter and air. Better yet I reccommend you have a new spark plug. Also drain your gas tank and put new fuel in it. Once you have new fuel and a good spark plug here is how you crank your motorcycle.

1--Open the choke to "full Choke" This will allow the carbuerator to inject just the right amount of fuel needed with the correct air mixture to crank a "cold" engine.

2--DO NOT TWIST THE TROTTLE WITH THE CHOKE OPEN---I assume you have been doing this and flooding your motor. Hands off the throttle when engine is cold.

3--Smooth, solid kicks on the kick starter---Short choppy strokes will not create enough compression to start the motor.

4--Find Top Dead Center--This is the point of your kick start stroke that will allow you to have the longest stroke when you kick.

5--Kick the kick starter until the motor starts and leave the choke on for 1-3 minutes until the motor begins to run smoothy.

6--Do not operate the Throttle until the motor runs smoothy--you could flood your motor after you start it if you push the choke in too soon.

A 125cc 4-stroke does not have a lot of compression so you should not have much trouble kicking this. I suspect you are attempting to crank your motor without the choke and you are using the throttle and not letting the choke push the fuel to your motor.

I hope this helps.

OH YEAH!!! I almost forgot to add. After you have rode the motorcycle you can most likely crank it with 1-2 good swift kicks with the choke off. The first start of the day (cold motor) will have to be with the "Choke on" and HANDS OF THE THROTTLE.

Hey Air4

Congrats. on the new bike - I guess you were good all year and Santa was kind.

I hope you've got it started by now, but if you haven't try posting this question in the 'cars and transportation' section under 'motorcycles' as you get more techie types post there (add Merry Christmas Guard rail Jim - and you are bound to get a great answer!)

This section is for racing related questions - so in a few weeks when you are (racing) come on back!!

Have fun.

Engage Choke *if engine is cold *not warm*
Put the bike into neutral, *USUALLY PRESS DOWN UNTIL YOU CANT AND THEN PUSH SHIFTER HALF WAY UP*
Hold in Clutch,
Kick the peg as hard as you can.
