You start up itunes. Then you put your ipod on the computer. It should open in itunes.
Decide where in your ipod you want to place the manually added music.
Now, in itunes, highlight the songs you wish add to the ipod.
Hold down the control button and hit C. Then on your ipod, open the location or playlist you want to add the songs, and hit Control V. The songs should quickly transfer over to your ipod, and you are finished.

1: Get iTunes from the Internet. I found it on a band website, but you can also find it at iTunes.com probably.

2: Delete any songs you imported to your computer from CD's and re-import them using iTunes. If you don't do it this way, it can cause problems during playback when listening to your iPod.

3: Sync your iPod to your computer, using the USB cord that came with the iPod. This is also the way you charge the battery on your iPod.

4: Using the options in the iPod information screen (it will tell you what the iPod's serial number is, how much space is on the iPod... things like that) choose whether you want your iPod to download all the songs, or perhaps only the ones with check marks by them and sync your iPod and computer together. Your computer, iTunes and your iPod should do the rest.
