people think that saltpeter has something to do with making guys have less sex drive, but that's an illusion.
It can be found at any pharmacy really.

Saltpeter is the common name used for several different chemical compounds, specifically for potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate. Potassium nitrate is commonly used in gunpowder, and sodium nitrate is found in fertilizers and explosives. I am a little worried that you are asking where to get it...Are you planning on blowing something up?

I haven't seen any in a long time, but we used to sell it in the pharmacy where I use to work. It was a white powder in a small jar. People would come in and buy it to add to smoked meat. There is also something about giving to men to cause them to lose their sexual desire. I do not know first hand if that is true or not. lol It is used in explosives, and salt peter can be found in many everyday products as well. It is used to preserve some foods, most commonly meats, although there are concerns about its health effects. Salt peter is also used in ice cream and toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

Sodium nitrate is the chemical compound with the formula NaNO3. This salt, also known as saltpeter, is a white solid which is very soluble in water. Sodium nitrate been used as an ingredient in fertilizers, explosives, and in solid rocket propellants, as well as in glass and pottery enamels; the compound has been mined extensively for those purposes.

I know they use to say they put "saltpeter" in the military food. I really think that was a myth or urban legend.

It's potassium nitrate or sodium nitrate.
Why is this question posted in Royalty;does it have something to do with the name of the hospital where Diana died, L'Hopital Pitie-Salpetriere?
It's available from medical supply companies , meat packing company suppliers and perhaps gardening suppliers since it can be found in fertilizers.
