Depends where they work and whether they are working on a deadline project or not. 8-10 hrs would be average, but maybe 12-14 if a project is coming up on a deadline.

Professional employees, be they Chemists, Engineers, Accountants, etc are salaried employees who are compensated by, retained for, and rewarded for their achievement, not for the hours they put in. Hourly employees are paid for the hour and are to follow directions of supervision. Professional employees are expected to manage themselvers with minimal supervision.

Having said this, Professional Employees may work long hours, on week ends or holidays, to accomplish their goals. It is very common for Professional Emploees to put in 50 or more hours per week. Further, because their skill levels need to be updated, they need to be actively updating themselves by reading, attending seminars, taking courses, etc or they will rapidly be obsolete.

Having said all the above, if you wish to be a professional employee in any field, do it because you like the field and are willing to put in long hours to do this..

Just the regular 8 hrs. Anything over that is overtime.

Are you refering to pharmacists?

I know 2 pharamcists one works monday to friday 9am-6am and the other monday to friday 9am to 7pm.
