I was thinking just call up the news paper company and asking, is this the best way?

You mean a paper "route" . Local newspapers are usually always looking for delivery people.

Find out who is delivering your local newspaper and see if you can fill in for them when they go on vacation, sick, etc. You may decide it's not that much fun.
