Civil status is the critical one. Thats what rings are for. That way if you want to ask someone their name and such, you can just look for the ring. If you see it you break off the "attack" and avoid feeling all akward.

You can marry irrespective of name, But if he/she is happily married, the party is over. It's not happening.

By "civil status," I assume you mean what we old folks would call marital status.

I want to know his name. I'm not looking for a husband, I'm looking for a friend. Lots of married men have friends that their wives think are OK, usually because they know there's no sexuality involved, sometimes because they don't really care if there is.
