work = force x distance

in the first case, you are lifting 25Nx 2meters = 50 J

in thesecond case, the amount of force you exert is 50N, and the work done is 50N x distance lifted (which is either 1, 4, or 8 meters).

So for 1 meter, the two boxes require 50J; for 4 meters they require 200J, and for 8 meters they require 400J.

25 N lift
W = Force x distance
W = 50 Nm

50 N lift
W = 50 x 2 Nm
W = 100 Nm

Not the same.
