hi, one solutions is a external carry disk, what that? just follow this links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_enclosure

http://listado.mercadolibre.com.ar/carry-disc-usb_OrderId_BIDS_AuctTypeID_AFP_DisplayType_G

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-2.0-3.5%22-SATA-IDE-HDD-Hard-Disk-Drive-External-Case_W0QQitemZ180198545612QQcmdZViewItem

just install your HD into the carry disk, and connect it to a USB port in any computer.

Set the hard drive's jumper's to slave then connect it as a second hard drive on another desktop. It not easy or maybe possible to connect it this way to a laptop that's why I suggest using a friends desktop. From there you can use a usb flash drive to copy your files to your laptop. All of this assumes that your hard drive will work.

What makes you think your hard drive has crashed??? Exactly what error messages are you getting?

you cant unless you get it repaired but that might not be cheap.
use your recovery disk if you need the OS.
