Since most of what you do with wireless is connect to the internet, ask yourself, how fast is my internet connection?

I'd be willing to bet its way less than 54mbps! (Its probably less than 6mbps.) So a standard G router will outrun the internet and that means you will work just fine!

theres no "wrong" speed for a wireless adapter. it depends on what you want...the higher the mbs, the faster the internet. keep in mind that buying an adapter thats higher than the wireless router will not speed it up, but remain at the routers capabilities and speeds.
