Believe it or not, they dont have to have any solids for the first year! BUT, after the first year they should eat somekind of solids, it doesn't have to be much, but something to build up their tummies. There really isn't much you can do because this is not your child, I know thats hard, but thats how it works, you can try telling them nicely, but really its a touchy situation. Happy holidays :)

Babies don't need table food until a year old. They can have some, but it's for practice and not nutritional value (although everything they eat should be nutritious). Breast milk/formula is fine until a year old. But now is a good time to introduce solids if they haven't been already.
Popsicles and cookies are nothing but junk; don't give them to him yet. It's more important to teach him to like healthy food before he gets hooked on junk food. His parents can start with pureed bananas, carrots, etc. When he masters those, they can try things that he can chew a little.
At this time, the milk intake should be cut down. No child ever starved themselves; he'll eat when he's hungry. If milk isn't always an option, he'll try other things.
If he doesn't get the hang of it soon, his parents should consult the pediatrician. He may have sensory issues or some other underlying problem that makes taking food difficult.

First of all where are his parents? They should have told you what to do. But anyways you need help. Don't give him regular food if hes never eaten baby food before. Does he have teeth? If so cut up some fruit like a banana and put him in a high chair and let him try it him self. Or try a cracker. But have some baby food for him or you can put some fruit in the blender for him and then feed it to him. Let him have his bottle so you know he's not starving but after he has a bottle then try giving him some food so don't let him have a bottle after that for awhile keep trying to let him have food. Maybe put some cheerios or soft crackers close on a table where he can reach. He will eat when he's hungry but he should be on solid foods by now. May he needs to go see a doctor. or ask his parents why they waited so long to give him food....

Have you tried a new food this week? Maybe having a reaction to the food or just doesn't care for it. I never could get my son to eat green beans. He eats them now but would not in the pureed baby food jars. That was 10 years ago. I now have a 12 week old and looking forward to trying foods soon. Also might be teething. But I would think she would open her mouth and chew on the spoon if that was the case. You might check and see if there are any sores in her mouth or if it looks irritated. When my son was little he got hand, foot, mouth disease and wasn't interested in eating anything. He was a little older though (picked it up from a playground).

I understand why you are worried, but there's nothing that we can tell you to help out.
Have your nephew's parents bring him to the doctors for advice. I think that they chose not to introduce food to their child or else they would've been to the doctors about this a couple months back.
If they chose to delay giving him solids then they'll have to be introduced to him slowly and he'll have to learn how to eat.

My granddaughter is 10 months old and she has eaten from the table for quite awhile. Christmas Eve she had macaroni and cheese, green beans, sausage balls, cooked carrots, creamed potatoes, and boiled chicken. I suspect your nephew wasn't offered food soon enough; it's not normal for a one year old to refuse everything. Bottle feeding only at this age is ridiculous. He should be drinking from a cup except for a bedtime bottle. Is he normal size? weight? health? I would worry too.

Sounds like his parents need some help. His parents should be worrying about this, not you. They must be lying to the doctors b/c the doctors ask questions about the type of food the baby eats as they get older.

That's how the Dr's are having women raise their kids now. They say it's to avoid food allergies! I think it's a bunch of bunk!
