Raj, could also be qualities that attract you in a potential friend of the same or other gender.
I used the word "attract" in a general sense, not only specific to sex or romance.

Only a homophobic man would be so frightened of the word attracted, to not see the possibility of another interpretation for it, like admire. But then the root cause of his insecurity, also makes it unlikely he would admit admiring another man. Because in his narrow conception of the world, admiration might be taken be a crush. The simpleton.

I admire men who are devoted and loving fathers. I admire men who are judicious thinkers. Who exercise sound judgment in their dealings with others. Who strive to be fair, and live without bigotry. I admire men who make every effort and take every opportunity to educate themselves beyond the expectations of those around them. I admire men who encourage others to be the best they are capable of. I admire men who who will sacrifice their own ambitions for the good of those around them. I admire men who pursue the highest ideals, and commit themselves to educate those who question the value of communal participation. Those are the men I admire.

I admire women who strive to rise above the simplistic definitions others would like to impose upon them. I admire women who challenge other women to raise the standard of their dreams and aspirations. I admire women who don't demean themselves by maintaining abusive relationships. I admire women who are careful of the values they exemplify to their children, being fully aware they are shaping the minds of future generations. I admire women who praise men for being the fair minded individuals they claim they want men to be.

What attracts me? Intelligence, common sense, honesty, expressiveness, compassion, playfulness, tolerance, frankness, curiosity, maturity, caring, self-awareness, and an appreciation for the outdoors and nature. For people I'm romantically interested in, I'd add: sensual and sexual.

A sense of humor, ability to laugh at themselves-and me when I do goofy things. Honesty without cruelty. A belief in right and wrong that encompasses the grey areas.

Primarily, intelligence, humor, and kindness. Creativity is a big plus. I tend to gravitate toward artists, musicians, writers, actors, etc. And I appreciate people who have unique experiences and perspectives that I feel I can learn from.

I think I am attracted to people who make me a better person for having known them. In women and men, I like people who are self-actualized and know exactly what they want out of life.

It has helped me to become that way.

First and foremost is passion.

People who are passionate about something, whether its social justice or astronomy will shine when they talk about their passion, and engage on it, and literally light up.

Then I look for people who explore their beliefs, intellectual wanderers, emotional mountain climbers, people who take time to walk long miles in their own inner space. And long to unravel mysteries.

In potential partner, I look for the possibility of sharing paths. Common dreams. Ways we can integrate our time and support each others aspirations. Spiritually, emotionally and practically. I look for a belief in service to the common good of humanity. In many different ways.

I am attracted to people who are interested in me, want to spend time with me, know what I think, what I believe. Challenge me to be honest about myself and who I am in the world. I reciprocate that attraction in kind.

I am attracted to people who take a clear, obvious and expressed enjoyment in my company.

I am attracted to people who speak their truths and allow me to speak mine.

I am attracted to people who ask deep questions and know that every truth I share is an intimacy. And that a single thought, a single word, leaves us alone in a crowd where the only lights shining are reflected in each other.

Either gender sense of humor, wit, honesty, warmth and intelligence. Physical traits of women proportion, don't need to be skinny or busty just waist smaller than hips and bust lol, expressive eyes.
