If you just started your period then it will take a while to get regulated. My daughter used to go for 2-3 weeks. I took her to many Dr.'s. They said it was not uncommon and not a health hazard.

Sometimes people are irregular. If it persists I would advise you to go see a gynecologist. A gynecologist as well as a normal physician will probably prescribe you birth control pills to control your cycle, but hopefully the gynecologist will actually examine you to try to really fix the problem. I think taking birth control is a horrible solution.

Once I went for over 15 days. I went to the doctor and found out that I had poked myself with the tampon. Do you wear tampons? The extra bleeding was not my regular period at all.

your hormones are just adjust and are over active. Yes it is normal and will fade. I remember my BF in high school had hers at the age of 17 for a month (I know that is not comforting) but you are not alone and are not abnormal. If you go to the doctor he or she will say the same thing. Try to eat lemons or limes to cut the bleeding. Lemons and limes thin out your blood.

At that age, it is normal to have irregular period. But when school starts back up, I'd talk to the nurse if you are still bleeding.

Have you been around different people lately?? If you are, their hormones could be affecting you. Guys can cause this along with females who tend to have longer periods. Maybe it's from all the holiday excitement . . . .
