John Hathcock and Ray Winkler. Ray Winkler was 77 when he died and John Hathcock was 81 when he died.

crazyguy... seems to be right. Ray Winkler and John Hathcock. Ray Winkler died of a heart attack on May 9, 1998. I just don't know where he got his info. I've been searching and I can't find second part of your question. These guys wrote some really good songs recorded by a lot of good artists.
