If not, then why do people from all walks of life succeed?

Can a nation do any more than provide the opportunity to succeed?

The key word is "opportunity". Yes. Unfortunately, not everyone is willing to spend the effort to:
get an education
spend the time necessary to get ahead
risk money investing in a business opportunity
work hard at your job instead of just showing up
or
any other ways to separate from the rest of the pack.

Yes, I believe they do.

If people do not succeed, it is because circumstances of life keep them down, or they are not ambitious enough or they don't try hard enough or they make bad business decisions. Everyone has the same opportunity to succeed, but many do not take advantage of that opportunity.

Yes. In America if you come up with a good idea and work hard you can become successful. But unfortunately many Americans are lazy and not willing to do the sacrifices necessary to achieve that. Everyone wants to go to Heaven but nobody wants to die.

Every American is wealthy when compared to other countries. We have an excess of nearly everything. While our poor people are poor by our standards compared to people in West Africa, for example, even our poor are wealthy.

Even in America, where everyone can succeed to untold wealth no one can do it strictly on his own. Anyone who says he "made it" on his own is either stupid or a liar.

Sure every American citizen has the opportunity but there are those that just don't want it. I'm one of them. I work and live just to get by. I don't want the BS that comes with getting rich. I make enough to survive and that's quite enough fr me.

Yes. John Edwards claims to have been dirt poor growing up, and now he lives in a mansion across the street from a trailer park.

Oprah Winfrey also claims to have been dirt poor growing up, and I think she's now the first black female billionaire.

I dont have self assurance in "redistribution of wealth" yet actual there are countless people who're wealthy and are probable that way even without needing to do perplexing artwork (you think of Cindy McCain labored perplexing for her inheritance). yet i think of it is in simple terms stupid how all human beings assumes Obama is without delay affirming, "wealthy human beings proportion your money!" He unquestionably needs the prosperous to realize that in the event that they have a technique of residing conveniently, it would possibly no longer remember in the event that they get taxed or no longer. for persons that are commencing a small business enterprise, the tax ought to no longer likely be that severe in case you have already got the money and sufficient funds to start the business enterprise in the 1st place. there are countless idiots who have not got any money or business enterprise finance preparation, that think of initiating a business enterprise will immediately supply them with an outstanding earnings (maximum small business enterprise fail, through fact they're in simple terms undesirable suggestions and don't herald revenues) for persons that are detrimental or below the 'wealth' qualification, no longer getting taxed will help them get to an identical point, or closer to persons that are already prosperous. you won't be able to anticipate all human beings who's detrimental would not artwork perplexing, many in simple terms could no longer have the means (ie: college coaching) to get a activity with a extra constructive earnings (in the event that they are no longer taxed, possibly they might shop extra money for college). The tax money helping welfare structures, i've got self assurance all human beings is already contributing to this. it is kinda like whilst Katrina broken the south, tax payers have been helping build residences and to deliver a super city lower back on its ft. we gained't in simple terms say, "i'm no longer paying taxes to help somebody who's lost a house in a organic catastrophe!" (and please do no longer anticipate that each hurricane to hit that section reasons harm--it is uncommon!!!!!!!) And shall we remember that if Obama wins, he's in simple terms in workplace for 4-8 years...the subsequent president would come to a determination to tax the detrimental/midsection classification, then we will see who's plan develop into extra effective for the financial gadget.
