still in her arm because she didn't have the money to pay her hospital fees. This was in the United States. They sent her in a cab from hospital to a missionary where she died 10 minutes after arriving from pneumonia. This is the richest country on planet earth we are talking about but they will dump a critically ill person on the brink of death outside a missionary because of money. It makes me feel sick. But yet they will tell you they are the best country on Earth. I beg to differ.

USA might be the richest country but it has the highest number of people living on or below the poverty line.

Yes and if that wasn't shocking enough, I was appalled to see the mother of that little girl -who was rushed to hospital in a critical condition - and whilst hospital staff argued over whether the mother's medical insurance covered her treatment, she died. The US have a lot to answer for when they refuse to treat their own citizens (often, even when they have medical insurance) and yet criticise other countries for less atrocities. Didn't a 12 year old lad die from an infection from a tooth abscess a few months back, simply because his parents didn't have the money for his treatment? It is unbelievable that these doctors take an Hippocratic oath and turn dieing patients away because they're not wealthy enough to be given the freedom of being healthy.

Utterly disgusting. And what about the child who died of a tooth abcess because his parents couldn't afford the private fees to have it treated until it was too late? Appalling!

America is sick with money. It seems to be all they care about.

Thank God I live in the UK. Yes people moan about the NHS but at least you can get treatment when you need it. We'd be lost without it.

I did not believe and even less so when you used Moore as a link. His movies are so slanted to his belief that he has no credibility.

I heard they have a similar attitude in Australia. I wonder how come she was admitted in the first place without insurance.

The good ol USA.
They have private healthcare there. One of the USA's biggest mistakes.
UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE for everyone I say.

I've heard of so many heart wrenching stories about how citizens of the US are treated because they cannot afford healthcare or the medications. It's time the world knew the truth.

To be on medicare you have to apply for it. You can get treatment in the emergency room but that does not mean they have to keep you.
