I try to either write down my feelings, listen to upbeat music, play the piano or...watch a really sad movie to let out those depressed feelings. Tears contain seratonin and when you have more of it u feel better. That's why u feel better after u cry.

I usually get picked up when I'm down by more unfortunate realities I encounter during the encounter. I have never had a depression where I didn't encounter one worse and more frustrating than mine. I give mine up as a wast of time in front of these other realities. I end up using my depression as an impulse to improve and reduce or eliminate the cause of my depression while I am still able because those examples I encounter have real reason to be depressed and are unable to overcome the causes.

Sometimes you have to feel down for a while -- that is normal. But once it has ran its course and you still feel bad then just remember that 1) you are only human (imperfect) so forgive yourself if you feel like something was your fault. 2) treat your self to something nice like a manicure /pedicure/ massage/ bubble bath -- whatever you like. 3) remember that no matter how bad you feel now, there is someone else out there who feels worse.
The best way to overcome your problems is focusing on helping other people with theirs. It truly is better to give than to receive. :-)
Good luck.
Hope you feel better.

I listen to music. Many types and genres develop different feelings in me
Opera (bel canto specifically) are exciting to me
Rock (70's specifically) when im doing tasks
Latino (mexican folk specifically) when im cooking, no matter the cuisine.
Another way to cheer yourself up is discovering different types of music. If youre not into jazz, pick up a compilation cd.
sometimes the act of discovering something new cheers me up.

I watch a sad film that's based on a true story and realise my problems are nothing compared to what some people go through.

You should listen to upbeat or uplifting music that you enjoy. Also watching something humorous on TV or on the net can make me feel better. Something like America's Funniest Videos. :)

remember that there are people out there who have it worse than you do...and that its a little selfish of us to complain and feel sad..while people out there wish for a simple thing like water..remember that God has blessed you..giving you the ability to do simple things and I know He blessed you enough that you can use the computer,go on the Internet, and have the ability to write this question down. Hope that helps you.. o ya dont 4get to smile. =)
