My daughter bought a replica of an artist who sculpted a crusifix out of wood in the 16th or 17th century. It is to hang on the wall. The letters "INRI" are on the bottom of the cruxifix, we would like to know what they mean? Donna K

"Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm"

It's Latin for Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. Latin has no 'J' or 'U', so 'I' is used for 'J' and 'v' is used for 'U'.
