What keeps me going, by the grace of God, is my absolute belief in the power of love and the inherent goodness of all of us, no matter how it seems. I find strength in solitude, through prayer, reading, meditation, music, creative projects, and reaching out to and being available to others via the internet and the phone, within reasonable limits. I also remember that I/we are never really alone. Finally, I remember that at the end of my days I never want to look back over my life and find that I did not do my part, that I did not utilize my gifts for the good of all.

I am on my own right now too. I find myself affirming "Peace to mind. Let all my thoughts be still." (From A Course in Miracles) This helps me to open my mind by releasing all my anxious thoughts and worries.

I think of it like this. Generally, the nature of life is that the more you put in, the more you get out, so the 'secret' to living a worthwhile life is just effort. Think about what you want and put all of your effort into doing the things that are necessary to get it.

Also, I'm a bit morbid and I'm partly driven by fear. I know how short life is and believe there's nothing after, so the prospect of having a crappy time of it whilst I'm here is pretty terrifying.

Prepare as well as you can for the exams, I wish I had last year.

Christmans, instad of being the happiest time of year, has become an absolute nightmare for those far from homa and alone. This alas is a growing number of people. Isolation, solitude and the feeling of being the lone person in this position further knaws at the psyche. Then students, and teenagers, in their formative years, starting out on the uncertain and sometimes unfriendly path of life are very susceptible. Its an emotionally very vulnerable time of the year/ More divorces, and suicides occur at this time. suicide is illegal because the very people who opt out, are they whom the world has a great need of, who smile in company and kwwp their woes private. Such is Life. Knowing, brings us closer to understanding, makes sense of even the most absurd and harsh realities of life, makes life slightly more bearable than without it...Be Loved...Peace..Much Much Peace....

I haven't really needed to struggle for existence. When times have been bad I've kept the thought, "this too will pass" in my mind. It seems to help.

This too shall pass.

This is only temporary.

Someone out there has it 10 times worst than me.

I'm really blessed to have this opportunity, this life, this job, car, house health, child etc.

I have to succeed. I have no real family other than my fiance and child. They're depending on me.

Its my muses. These are some "spirits" if you can call them that who accompany us in our journey. The spirit of song, poetry and art.
There are supposedly a few recorded muses in history. Find yours. Sometimes music alone will soothe your so called "savaged soul"
-------------------------------------------
* Calliope (the "beautiful of speech", chief of the muses and muse of epic or heroic poetry)
* Clio (the "glorious one", muse of history)
* Erato (the "amorous one", muse of love or ****** poetry, lyrics, and marriage songs)
* Euterpe (the "well-pleasing", muse of music and lyric poetry)
* Melpomene (the "chanting one", muse of tragedy)
* Polyhymnia or Polymnia (the "[singer] of many hymns", muse of sacred song, oratory, lyric, singing and rhetoric)
* Terpsichore (the "[one who] delights in dance", muse of choral song and dance)
* Thalia (the "blossoming one", muse of comedy and bucolic poetry)
* Urania (the "celestial one", muse of astronomy)
==========================================
Play some music. Sing some of your own. Remember the songs sung to you when you were small.
