A friend of mine made this claim before. I disagreed that a person commits murder/suicide due to jealousy. So who is more likely to make that claim?

Of course this is a variation on the Republican brainwash phrase "they hate us for our freedoms," "they are just jealous," and I have only heard Republicans say it. But there is a small sliver of truth to the jealousy argument which is why the slogan has persisted.

Some Muslims are jealous of the American lifestyle of premarital sex, provocatively dressed women, mingling of the sexes in public places, legal alcohol, and dancing. In other words they are jealous and hate us at the same time because we are not religiously conservative enough, and we are permitted to have some fun.

After 9-11-01 we gave Muslims plenty of political reasons to hate us: we invaded and occupied Iraq, failed to negotiate a homeland for the Palestinians and allowed Israel to bomb Lebanon. Any sort of jealousy is now irrelevant.

I don't think that "Hating America" has anything to do with jealousy.

Most people who "hate America" in the world do so for their history of meddling in other countries' affairs. In the 1900s the US overthrew many democratically elected governments and set up puppet dictators to replace them, because those democratic governments would not go along with being exploited by the US.

Sorry to say this but the American Gov. has brought any such hate on itself. I wish it were otherwise.

We live in a culture which has grown to believe that we are so great that everyone else wants to be us.

Personally, I don't believe that. I believe America is great... for Americans. I think that not everyone in the world thinks our lifestyle is something to aspire to. In fact, some people in the world believe that our lifestyle is a sign of the degeneration of the human spirit. It is THOSE people who try to destroy us.

They are not right. But neither are those who believe that the only reason someone would try to kill others is out of jealousy.

"They're just doing that because they're jealous" is a middle school mentality. And in the world of global politics, that sort of mentality is a very, very dangerous one.

First rule of war: KNOW YOUR ENEMY. That means actually GETTING TO KNOW THEM, not drawing knee-jerk conclusions based on motivations that you assign to people without truly understanding them.

through fact the announcing is going, "it extremely is the character of the beast"! maximum Democrats i understand, hear or study are so a procedures *left* (and *so* incorrect) that they suspect they are *actual*. in case you're an elitist Dem, you are able to delude your self into questioning that purely *you* understand what's great for our usa and for persons; in case you're a sensible Republican, you recognize which you're actually and back flawed and seek for to superb those blunders you have made interior the previous. Richard Nixon knew that he gained the election honest and sq. in 1960 against John Kennedy; although he enjoyed our usa plenty he did no longer choose to work out her torn aside by employing inter-celebration bickering, even with the universal voter fraud perpetrated by employing Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and the Chicago thugs and the Mafia!

First of all...I don't believe that jealousy plays any part in the reasoning that non-Americans hate America. I think the hatred for America has festered due to our foreign policy that promotes democracy as the only way to govern and for our arrogance in trying to make every other nation a democracy after our style and for our interference in other governments. What works for us doesn't mean it works for everybody. Besides - ours isn't really working for us anymore now is it?

I believe it is Republicans and I believe they are correct. The fallacy of your murder/suicide scenario is that the militant Muslims have been indoctrinated since childhood to hate America and have been trained to kill.

Reps are more likely to say it cus, that's as far as their understanding allows them to go...

With that said, people commit murder out of jealousy allot, just watch 10 minutes of the Jerry Springer Show and you'll begin to understand...

Historically its been the Repubs. They have said that the 9-11 attacks happened because the Moslems were jealous of our wealth and freedom. However the real reason was our military bases in Saudi Arabia, which they feel is holy land that our bases were defiling. Mr. Bush removed the bases after the 9-11 attacks.

Clearly the republicans. They refuse to admit that there is anything wrong with this country. They live under the delusion that the country and everything they do is perfect. We have one of the highest murder rates in the world, as well as crime rate in general. 1 out of 5 children goes to be hungry in the US every night. I hate america, as it is today, but I feel the Founding Fathers would hate what it has become as well.

If it's wrong to think you're better than everyone just because you happen to have been born with white skin, why isn't it just as wrong to think that you're better than everyone just because you happen to have been born in america? The whole 'national pride' thing really isn't far off from Racism, but with it's widespread acceptance I fear it's even more dangerous.

Republicans of course, because they truly have no idea about how people think outside the United States, nor do they care. I think the attitude that the world is black and white, and we are always the good guys is something unique to the conservative mindset.
