Can one hold the same adsense account, and sign up with another blog service, from a current blog to receive say double the payments? Or is that not allowed?

Yes, you can use the same Adsense account with as many sites or blogs as you wish so long as you have access to them, and so long as they meet the terms and services of Google. You're not allowed to have more than one Adsense account, but that one account can be used to generate code for dozens of sites if you wish.
However some blogging software doesn't allow javascript , and some doesn't allow advertising. So you'd have to check whether it's possible.

Hello, I have an adsense account aswell. My brother had the same question and he got an email from google. they said you can use the same account for an unlimited number of websites once you own them, are legal and comply with google's terms and conditions... you only submit one URL initially because you generally start out posting on one website. Hope this helps :)

Yes you can ... i have numerous websites and blogs with the same adsense account. But i am switching to pay per audio and will earn on100% of website traffic instead of the low percentage of clicks...check it out ..the links below
