Yes! But never as much as $224.
Maybe the next time you go grocery shopping you should really take a look at what you're buying, and ask yourself the age old question "Do I really need this?"

I grocery shop once a month! I go to Sam's Club and it is usually about 700 dollars every time I go!
I get milk and things like that once every 2 weeks right here in my small town grocery store but the big shopping is once a month. I am always Shocked at the price at the til but I gotta feed my family so I just grin and bear it!!

If I were you, I'd start collecting the grocery shopping bills from a few visits and get into making comparisons. It could be the store's prices or the brands that you're choosing. Retailers are a sneaky bunch, by the way.

Yep. Especially when I go to a store that has groceries and other things (clothes/dvds/toys). You leave and wonder what the heck just happened.

Yes every time! Now I try and go to Costco where you get larger amounts. You still spend a fortune but you have more to show for it and it lasts longer. The only drawback is finding places to store it.

Yes its a optical illusion the grocery stores play on us. The thing is we don't realize until we are checking out or at home.

yup, been there, done that. try to avoid buying cleaning supplies at the grocery store. they are marked up quite a bit. buy that stuff at Target or Walmart. you'll be better off.
