A very shy guy goes into a pub on Valentine's Day night and sees a beautiful woman sitting alone at the bar.
After an hour of gathering up his courage he finally goes over to her and asks tentatively, "Um, would you mind if I brought you a drink?"

She responds by yelling, at the top of her lungs, "No, I won't sleep with you tonight!"

Everyone in the pub is now staring at them. Naturally, the guy is hopelessly and completely embarrassed and he slinks back to his table totally red faced.

After a few minutes, the woman walks over to him and apologises. She smiles at him and says, "I'm really sorry if I embarrassed you just then. You see, I'm a graduate student in psychology and I'm studying how people respond to embarrassing situations."

The man responds, at the top of his lungs, "No I will not pay $200!"

That was sooo funny Fisherman. You never disappoint us.
Being the romantic that I am, I love Valentines Day. I always make a big deal of it if I happen to have a special man in my life. I make all of the valentine cards candy etc that I send to my grandchildren and never forget to send to my children and friends. I really look forward to getting cards, candy or whatever just like I did as a little girl.

Good joke! No, I don't like Valentine's Day, as it's my annual Singleness Remembrance Day. Years ago I made a Valentine to myself with a newspaper clipping from a bar that read, "No one to love on Valentine's Day? Why not come here and drink heavily?" Every year I pull it out and stick it on the fridge!

No, I don't enjoy Valentine's Day from a romantic point of view. If I had someone special in my life, I might feel differently. I do make Valentine cards for a few special girlfriends. I heard the joke before and always love the "good comeback" stories. Thanks for sharing.

No just another cheap ploy for retail commercialism.
Why just acknowledge this day, every day should be be a thank you to your significant other.
Some people think that if they give a card, present or take them out for dinner, that that is supposed to do the job for the whole year. Wrong!!!

Cool joke. I really don't like valentines day. It seems so contrived. Romanticism is different things to different people and trying to be romantic on one day of the year seems silly.

First time I heard the joke was on an episode of "Banacek" with George Peppard....The female insurance investigator, (can't recall her name) was trying to embarrass Banacek at a high social event, and as they talked she screamed, "Sleep with you?!!!", so he walked off....She approached him and told him that she had really gotten to him, and he yelled "50 DOLLARS?!!!"................But to answer the question: I really enjoy Valentines Day, for those who have that special one in their lives...Unfortunately, that is not my case....That "special one" still eludes me............
