I'm looking for a book and i don't know the title or the auther. Wel its more like a searies. I know that in each name there is a color. I know the first book has the word Silver in it and i'm pretty sure the second book has the word Gold.

Its a fantasy searies kind of its about a man who is a detective but he lives in a world with elves and fairies and so on but theres also humans as well and he goes around solving mystries and so on. I think its kinda like a fantasy Sherlock Homes.

So if you at least know the author or the name of the first book something so i can track it down i'de apriciate it.

I think this might be it:

"Garrett P.I. is a series of books by author Glen Cook about Garrett, a freelance private investigator. The novels are written in a film noir-esque style, containing elements of traditional mystery and detective fiction, as well as plenty of dialogue-based humor. The Garrett P.I. novels are set in a fantasy universe; protagonist Garrett, during his adventures throughout his home city of TunFaire and across Karenta and the Cantard, meets elves, vampires, centaurs, trolls, gods, wizards, witches, and more. Unlike most fantasy series, the Garrett P.I. novels focus more on the detective aspects of the story and less on the fantastic and magical aspects.

The Garrett novels, in order, are:
Sweet Silver Blues (1987)
Bitter Gold Hearts (1988)
Cold Copper Tears (1988)
Old Tin Sorrows (1989)
Dread Brass Shadows (1990)
Red Iron Nights (1991)
Deadly Quicksilver Lies (1994)
Petty Pewter Gods (1995)
Faded Steel Heat (1999)
Angry Lead Skies (2002)
Whispering Nickel Idols (2005)
Cruel Zinc Memories (TBD)

You can buy it (and the others in the series) on Amazon at the second link.

The Deverry Series by Katherine Kerr has some elements you're looking for, though Act III & IV are the only ones with colors in the titles.

* Act one: Deverry

1. Daggerspell (1986) — "Author's definitive edition" issued in 1993
2. Darkspell (1987) — "Author's definitive edition" issued in 1994
3. The Bristling Wood (1989) — US title; issued in the UK as Dawnspell: The Bristling Wood
4. The Dragon Revenant (1990) — US title; issued in the UK as Dragonspell: The Southern Sea

* Act two: The Westlands

1. A Time of Exile (1991)
2. A Time of Omens (1992)
3. Days of Blood and Fire (1993) — US title; issued in the UK as A Time of War
4. Days of Air and Darkness (1994) — US title; issued in the UK as A Time of Justice

* Act three: The Dragon Mage

1. The Red Wyvern (1997)
2. The Black Raven (1998)
3. The Fire Dragon (2000)

* Act four: The Silver Wyrm

1. The Gold Falcon (2006)
2. The Spirit Stone (2007)
3. The Shadow Isle (expected 2008)

The series involves reincarnation as a theme, and frequent flashbacks as a method of storytelling.

Could it be that you're looking for ''The Silver Wyrm'' and ''The Gold Falcon'' by Katharine Kerr?

I'm only assuming you mean her because she has another book with a colour in its title called ''The Red Wyvern.''

The whole series is called ''The Deverry Cycle'' set in a fictional land of Deverry.

Check this out, maybe the names of the characters will ring some bells :)
