depends on who "he" is

if they are a creditors and they have or get a court judgment then yes they can place a lien on any property you have in the future. Many states court judgments are valid for 20 years.

If you have real property, a lien can be placed on it. But there are time limits from the time of complaint to the time when a lien can be placed, but this varies by jurisdiction.

That you have no contract is of no consequence. And because a lien is filed, it doesn't mean the court will allow it. However, a lien is not something to be taken lightly, you should contact a real estate attorney to obtain advise on how to proceed.

Do not understand what Lien me means. But, if you owe a valid debt to someone, yes, he can put a lien on the home you're purchasing, after you own it. Credit card companies do it all the time - they wait for your name to show up owning real property, then go to court, get a judgment, and place a lien on your home.

Completely legal, too.

He can, of course it will cost him some money to file the lien in a court. Nor does it mean he will prevail with the lien - kinda like anybody can sue anybody for anything, but they won't necessarilly win.

If he does place a lien on your new house, contact a lawyer.
