My plant looks to have a Center that is even with the ground. There are 5 stems from around the center. Are these seperate bulbs that can be split up?

Yup. Just dig the whole thing up and you can cut the new bulbs off and plant them. I do it all the time. I think those might actually be rhizomes, not bulbs, but practically speaking, there's not a real difference.

EE's put out runners that root on and under ground. What you are describing is the mother plant. Wait for the pups.

They surely are. Don't plant them close to a sidewalk or close to the house - they get strong as they grow.
