For some reason. I've never understood why that marriage has lasted. They both hate each other, openly date other people, have cheated on each other countless times and to say again to get the point across, they hate each other.
It's a matter of convenience I guess. Better to go home to someone you don't like every night than spend the rest of your life paying for a divorce. My life certainly would have turned out better if they did divorce when I was a child. Being in the middle of almost every fight almost every day growing up has messed me up big time when it comes to relationships I try to maintain.

Mine divorced when I was 8 years old. However, it was a very amicable divorce and I was never used as a pawn - I was able to live with either my Mom or my Dad and my Dad paid more than he was ordered to pay for child support and I was allowed to see him as much as I wanted.
I went to live with my Dad at age 15 until I married.
So, I guess you can say that as far as being "scarred" from a divorce, I am not one of those statistics.

My mother just celebrated her 80th birtday, Dad celebrates 84 in about 5 weeks and they are quite content

No, they divorced after 25 years of marriage. My dad has since passed away.

i'm 31 and my parents are still together! although it's sorta like a love/hate relationship. can't live with eachother, can't live without eachother! i think it'll be like 37 years this year.
