I remember!! I do! I do! And your absolutely right. The republicans, the party about personal accountability, lack the ability to do so in and of themselves. The Clinton Recession? If by that you mean the recession that we got after Clinton was already out of office for a year, then yeah. That would be right. The recession that he had nothing to do with! Clinton oversaw the most prosperous period of growth in our country's history!! And this crappy economy is his fault? That is the WORST logic that I have ever heard, yet they spew it over, and over again. It's as if they think that everybody, not just their followers, are going to believe it just because you keep saying it. You know, if you throw dog turds at somebody and call it apples forever, it's still going to be dog turds! No matter how much you call it something else! People need to wake up and see this because they have been distorting the truth about this for 8 years and nobody has called them on it. Or when people try to, suddenly that person is just an anti-american liberal. What are we, morons? They have been treating us that way, and the McCain campaign is counting on that being the truth. Please, America, let's prove him wrong once and for all!!!

People will answer differently, depending on what they determine the word "tarnished" to mean. A President may have done something that was viewed as bad, illegal, immoral, etc., but if it was done in the best interest of the country, can he be said to have "tarnished" the office of the President? That said, what Bill Clinton did with Monica, and others, IN THE OVAL OFFICE, was a disgrace. That, more than anything, tarnished the presidency...
People may react negatively to the wars and military actions pursued by Bush 41 & 43, and those covert actions initiated by Reagan. Although popular opinion is not on their side, their actions were in the best interest of the country as a whole. Being "popular" doesn't make a good president, being strong in the face of adversity, on the other hand, does.

The Office itself has not been tarnished, but all 3 of the presidents in the last 20 years have tarnished records on some issue or another.

I'm not sure why you even bothered asking this question, because you had to know that you would pretty much get only thoughtless, obviously partisan answers.
My reply is Bill Clinton, because his actions caused an erosion of people's respect for the position of being President.
Though large numbers of people do not like the decisions George W. Bush has made, and though some consider him ignorant, his actions have never made us feel contempt for the office he holds; only, in some cases, contempt for Bush as a person. Bush has treated the position with respect that Clinton did not.
Clinton, I feel, used the position to enable him to create his own personal playground, and he may have done the same thing as governor of Arkansas.

Reagan and the Iran Contra arms deal.
Poppa Bush said "no new taxes!" Got elected on that promise. It was a lie and lost him the second election.
Clinton lied to the whole world and wouldn't take responsibility for his "relations with that woman!"
Baby Bush lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction amongst who knows how many other things and opened a war on that premise instead of just shootin' straight with the world.
*Can you name a president that didn't tarnish the Presidency in the past 20 years?*

Of course! 20 years ago, it was 1987. So, starting with 1987, the following presidents have been in office:
Ronald Reagan
George HW Bush
Bill Clinton
George W Bush
We've had a tarnished Oval Office for decades now!

President "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton. Usually getting your dick sucked in the Oval Office, then committing perjury about the incident is enough to tarnish an administration.
