Ironically yes. Her mother has never really warmed up to me but her father did. I thought the divorce would have rid me from their lives but my ex father in law still wants me around every now and then. Specifically when he's taking his boat in or out of the water. He's not very good at it and my wife's new guy is scared of water. He doesn't like him very in the least.

Well, as I am prevented by law from marrying my partner, I don't have in-laws. [I DO have the same tax burden as heterosexuals, so this preclusion from having all the same rights effectively renders me a second-class citizen. Ain't America grand?]
Anyhoo, I am on very good terms with my partner's family.

You are asking this question of a 56-year old person. Yes, I am. But, please note one point. The relation would be good and cordial as long as your wife tells all good things about you to them. If she goes on relating how bad you are, the terms would never be good.

They aren't my in-laws yet, but yes. As a matter of fact, when I've ended relationships, it's much harder for me to break up with the families than it was with the guy.

Very much so! I am not married, but I am in a long term relationship and we live half at his parents house half at mine. My mum loves my boyfriend, she reckons hes like the son she never had... And his parents daughter just moved out so I am like the replacement daughter and particualy his mother loves me like her own. Haha, my boyfriend sometimes thinks she loves me more than she loves him!

I would have to say yes since there is only one left and it's her sister! The only one in the family who turned out half way decent (besides my wife).
