I dont know if its the worst thing that was but it effected me the most.

While in 7&8 grade a few certain kids picked on me because my last name was strange. They were relentless. If was shy and timid back then. They had alot of nicknames for me and would make me the butt of their jokes. It really affected my self-esteem. It took years to get past that. It really wasnt the nicknames that effected me now that i look back it was was the cruelty that really cut me to the core. Makes a person feel worthless.

Its hard to think that anything good could come from that situation but it has. I am now outspoken and my self-esteem has recovered. I am very aware of people feelings. Its made me grow in that respect. I have 2 boys that have a different life that i did, and it been one of my goals to teach them to be kind a considerate little boys. My 9 year old has a strong personality but he is the most polite and sweetest thing you could meet. They certainly have slip ups, but they are well grounded. I cant say im glad i was picked on but its certainly made me a better person for it.

I was called an evil b i tch by my mother when I was a teenager, and I was called a toad by a guy who didnt hear me out when I told him I wasnt pregnant, he said I was trying to trap him and called me a toad when I was actually making it very clear that I wasnt pregnant and couldnt get pregnant...so I know who the real toad was, but it still hurt to have someone say that...Oh and I was told I was a piece of s h it by a girlfriend who was misled that I was telling her buisness when some of it I didnt even know! So I told her she would find out eventually who was her true enemy but it was too late I would never trust her again to be my true friend for attacking me that way in the middle of my work place. She called me a year later and apologized but things were never the same. So, you just have to take the knocks and hope that time will fix the problem, I have found you cant talk anybody into doing anything they dont all-ready want to do and you cant MAKE somebody like or love you so you have to wait and let them make up thier own minds.

To my face or not? I have known a lot of people who have said things that hurt me and yes they did get to me, but you know what? If I let these hateful things engrain themselves upon me then I would give those same people the power okay I know I'm not exactly the most handsome person and know that those who do not know me question my intellect but if these same people had an inch of conscience then they would retract what they said if anything it says more about them as a person than anything they could muster up about me.

Oh... That I felt BAD ABOUT later? Nothing... But I've said some things that may seem "Horrible" to a third party that I don't feel bad about at all... Like telling my alcoholic/opiate addict "Mother" that she isn't a "Mother", she's the animal that birthed me because a "Mother" wouldn't abuse her child. I was 12 and called her by her first name from that moment until the day she died. I still just call her "Donna" when speaking of her, never "Mom".

They said I said something about one of my best friends that wasn't true. And, the sad part is, my best friend believed the other person!
