As far as I am conserned right and wrong are absolute. Wrong is doing harm to any person, place or thing. There are different levels of wrong doing. Some are worse than others. I don't think that they are being switched to suit our desires. I do realize that religious people have some views of what is right or wrong that are not shared by everyone. For instance I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality but many religious people do. To me this is just a personal opinion. They are not hurting anyone..they just disagree with the views of some people.

I think right and wrong are absolute, yes. And I don't think any misconception from any source holds water or authority.
The comprehension of complexity, that I think increases as we age, requires thorough consideration before arriving at a resolution, but never will right and wrong be less than absolute, even with the variety of options.

As shown in the dictionary definitions below, there are 'gray' areas that prevent a finding of 'absolute' - e.g., morality [who decides?] justice, upright, virtuous etc.
right – adj. 3. in accordance with justice, law, morality, etc; upright; virtuous [right conduct] 4. a) in accordance with fact, reason, some set standard, etc; correct; true [the right answer] b) correct in thought, statement, or action
wrong – adj. 1. not in accordance with justice, law, morality, etc.; unlawful, immoral, or improper 2. not in accordance with an established standard, previous arrangement, given intention, etc. [the wrong method] 3. not suitable or appropriate [the wrong thing to say] 4. a) contrary to fact, reason, some set standard, etc.; incorrect; inaccurate; false b) acting, judging, believing, etc. incorrectly, mistaken

A matter of perspective and upbringing . Also the case at hand must be valid. Undo punishment for a minor violation is not necessary . A major violation requires major punishment.
Should we murder all child molesters ? YES, they can't be fixed ! If we did this than 10% of the archdiocey would be elimenated ! Now that's going to ruffle the feathers of most catholics , but not the ones who were violated. Faith can make them blind to justice !

Right and Wrong can be visualized as a rheostat (variable resistor-- used in stuff like adjustable lighting) off course there's a complete ON (right) or OFF (wrong) but there's all sorts of variables along the way.

Depends upon whether you are in reference to man's or God's. God's is never changing. Man's, because he is essentially evil, varies according to different reasoning and purposes, all stemming from pride, ie, ungodliness. Our government here in the US, defines right and wrong, or truth and honesty in general, as whatever is needed or beneficial to themselves at the moment. Two very good examples are Hillary Clinton and Huckabee. If we believe in God and want what He wants for us, now is the time to align our own perspective of right and wrong with His. Otherwise, we are like the politicians.

All shades of gray... absolutes are just illusions....and defined in the mind of the individual. There certainly are collective illusions, when we, as a society, agree to believe the illusion...but an illusion none the less....IMHO

There really ARE absolutes. Some situations have gray overtones, but that doesn't mean that some things are flat out WRONG.
