Well, we used to do that, and that's how disease spread. It's messy. I mean yeah we CAN but do we really want to? No.

I don't think there's a real reason, but when people are born into a world where everyone's like, "Well, if the toilet is there already, why go elsewhere?", then it's kinda hard to not follow. Anthropologically speaking, however, the vast majority of known peoples do indeed do their business "outside", that is, away from where people don't want to smell your manure (Intro Cultural Anthropology textbook). Still, this may not necessarily be a "toilet", and people born into this kind of arrangement will tend to follow suit, that is, not needing toilets.

lol do u fancy going to go to the toilet behind a tree?
one of my mothers friends is very very wealthy because of the money she inherited of her grandfather or father(not quite sure), he was one of the people who came around and collected & emptied the buckets in the days where ppl didnt hav toilets.
I guess bcause no1 wants 2 hav that job & every1 has 2 go.

do you really want to go poo outside? and wipe your butt with a pinecone?? ouch! i am very thankful for toilets....
what if you were in a pretty nice gown and had to go...so you went outside to pee and you peed all over that nice dress of yours?
yeah....i wouldnt want to do that.....go toilets! whoo hoo!

then i guess we wouldnt need toilet paper either and we could still be using corn cobs and straw like they did back in the 1500's.

if we did not have toilets and we had to do it outside that will be disgusting! it will stink! and we r probably going to step on stuff everywhere
