Hi tgibbyson
As a matter of fact and I in the process of making plans to move to Cyprus.
I am stuck at the moment as I am waiting for my elderly Father to pass away before I can go and dont want to rush the boat.

However, Cyprus is the place for me, cheap property, warm weather (cool in the mountains), great education for my kids and a lot slower.

cheers

A few years back I was at a friends house talking about the state of the nation since we were both discharged from the army. I had a much more jaded view of American than he did and he seemed to tire of my complaining... He looked me dead in the eye and gave me the old cliche "America... Love it or leave it!"

I have been living in the Czech Republic for the last 2 years and loving it! I had the opportunity and I took it.

I chose the Czech Republic, originally, because of the fact that it is a good central location to all of Europe and North Africa. That and the fact that the beer is great! I actually moved here when I did, though, because my fiance is Czech.

Lake Royale outside of Raliegh NC, I live up north and would like to have 4 seasons, but if winter could be very short that would be preferred. Plus, the natural disaster likelyhood is low, other than a stray hurricane once in awhile. London, Madrid, New York, are all good too, but I think I'd rather visit them than live in the rat race.

I moved to Mallorca,Spain 10 years ago. I could never live in the Uk again. I went back for a visit recently and have to say that I felt more of a foreigner there than I do here in Spain. I have adopted the Spanish culture and lifestyle and think the quality of life is better here. I own my own business and pay taxes and social security. I can speak fluent Spanish and I respect the customs and beliefs of my host country.

I think I would move to Alaska. I don't enjoy summer too much. I love spring and fall & winter, but summer I could live without. So if I lived in Alaska (which i've never been to, but have hard many times how beautiful it is there) then I could just come back to the states to vacation when it is warm!

Where would you go Stephen H????

**another place I've always been drawn to is Italy. I think I was an Italian in another life!!

Central London, I just love it....the energy...the culture..cosmopolitan..

The parks, art galleries, cinemas, theatres, museums, the shops and eateries, markets, live events.. So much to do and see if you wish to..The ease of getting around the city/tubes/buses/walking.Being central for travel elsewhere in the UK and overseas.

But i would need a garden too,it would cost a fortune....
