Philosophy is a word that describes the process of trying to figure out things we are aware of but do not fully understand. So whenever we are searching for answers to life and of the things we do, we start asking "why". The answers to "why" is essentially what Philosophy is. The need for Philosophy is the same as the need to know "why".

A philosopher is really someone who seeks wisdom. To do that we have to ponder and that's philosophy. The world would consist of robotic people if nobody pondered or asked questions. Look up all of the great philosophers and tell me that they didn't make a difference or give us something to think about concerning the state of society and the world.

In my experience, I find my philosophic way of looking at situations helps me address various life problems with clarity and objectivity and also gives me an advantage of detachment...... this brings efficiency in the way I handle ticklish situations as and when they arise. By the way, I am no philosopher in the sense that neither have I had any formal education in the subject nor have I read any books relating to theoretical philosophy or authored by any renowned philosopher. I believe that life is the greatest teacher of philosophic way of thought..... and it is so because the philosophic way of thought does help life to be led better.

Philosophy, literally, is the love of wisdom. Once people learn to love , they need wisdom to balance it, so heart and mind work together.
