I'm presuming you really mean just add
(11x^2 + 5x + 6) + (18x^2 + 17x + 17)
There are a few rules in math you need to learn
Distributive property of multiplication over addition a(b+c)=ab+ac
Commutative property of addition a+b=b+a
Associative property of addition (a+b)+c=a+(b+c)

This means first that you can add the stuff in any order,
(11x^2 + 5x + 6) + (18x^2 + 17x + 17)=
because of the associative and commutative properties

(11x^2 + 18x^2) + (5x + 17x) + (6 + 17)=
because of the distributive property

(11+18)x^2 + (5+17)x + (6+17)
Now all you have to do is the arithmetic in the parentheses

Or you can wait for somebody to do it for you.

If it helps, you might think of x=10
The problem becomes
(11x100 + 5x10 + 6) +(18x100 + 17x10 + 17)

Or maybe
(11 apples + 5 oranges + 6 pears) + (18 apples + 17 oranges + 17 pears)

Let f(x) = (11x2 + 5x + 6) + (18x2 + 17x + 17)
= 29x^2 + 22x + 23

if f(x)=0

29x^2 + 22x + 23=0

solving using Sridharaya's formula ,

x= [ -22 ± √( (22)² - 4(23)(29) ) ] / [2(29)]

roots are complex

x= (- 11 - i√546)/9
AND
x= ( -11 + i√546)/9

(11x2 + 5x + 6) + (18x2 + 17x + 17)
11x2 + 5x + 6 + 18x2 + 17x + 17
11x2 + 18x2+ 5x + 17x + 6 + 17
29x2+ 22x + 23

(11x2 + 5x + 6) + (18x2 + 17x + 17)
22 + 5x + 6 + 36 + 17x + 17
22x + 28 + 36 + 17
22x + 64 + 17
22x + 81

Then again, it is not specified whether 11x2 is either 11x2 = 22, or either 11x2 is 11X2, as in non-numeric form.

(11x^2 + 5x + 6) + (18x^2 + 17x + 17)
11x^2 + 5x + 6 + 18x^2 + 17x + 17 Now you would add like terms
29x^2 + 22x + 23

(11x^2 + 5x + 6) + (18x^2 + 17x + 17)

11x^2 + 5x + 6 + 18x^2 + 17x + 17.... combine similar terms...

11x^2 + 18x^2 = 29x^2

5x + 17x = 22x

6 + 17 = 23

answer:

29x^2 + 22x + 23

That relies upon. Is the equation set to 0? With that innovations it may desire to be 9x+10. If the equation have been set to 0, you're starting to be 9x+10=0, which will translate to: 9x=10 X could then equivalent 10/9.
