Same actress in ET and Close Encounters?

Did the same actress play Elliott's mother in ET and the little blond boy's mother in Close Encounters? Think it was Dee Wallace Stone, may be wrong though!

...that was Melinda Dillon, as the boy's mother in "Close Encounters...", and it was Dee Wallace Stone as Elliot's mom, in "E.T."...

Elliot's mother in ET was played by Dee Wallace Stone. The woman in Close Encounters was Melinda Dillon, who also played Ralphie's mother in A Christmas Story.

No. Elliott is played by Henry Thomas.
