I have comcast cable modem and they boast a speed of 6 megs and have an upgrade for 8 megs. AT&T told me that they have a 3 and 6 meg package, but due to my location i can only get the 3 meg speed. AT&T also told me that although comcast has the 6 and 8 meg speeds, because they are cable, those speeds are usually bogged down to 3-4 megs due to the number of people using it, and that i'll only get that optimum speed at 3 in the morning when everyone is asleep. AT&kT also said that because they are a DSL service, their speeds never get bogged down.
The problem is that i want to buy the playstation 3 and my friend swears up and down that people with DSL always have lag time problems when they play online with the ps3.
So any computer experts on here that can help me make a decision? I also want to watch movies and the like online and download animes and stuff from my veohtv beta.

I would stay with the cable, DSL speeds are up too 3 megs, you'll never get it. I have Comcast too and it all depends on the amount of people on that cable as to how fast your speed it. If you want to know what your speed is go to http://speedtest.net and find out. By the way with DSL it depends on how far away from the terminal as to how fast your speed it, the farther away you are, the slower it is.

Short answer: Stay with Comcast

5 years ago Cable here used to get bogged down occasionally but technology has improved that and I experience no more "bogging". It is true that DSL provides more uniform and consistent speeds but It all boils down to your particular location and ISP s. So I don't believe there is a "one size fits all" answer

it actual relies upon on what variety of utilization do you have and how plenty time do you spend on the information superhighway.in case you like an information superhighway connection for limitless downloading and limitless utilization then purely BSNL and AIRTEL are the plausible possibilities. next it relies upon on your place of place of residing.I even have had some very own journey with BSNL men and oh that grew to become into undesirable.AIRTEL ain't very stable too yet their customer provider is greater advantageous than BSNL.velocity smart BSNL is marginally greater advantageous than AIRTEL however the worry linked with getting a BSNL connection is that this variety of spoiler.
