For many years I had really very long hair, my boyfriend always told me he liked it. A while back some of his University friends came over for dinner and after we had a few drinks, & when chatting one of them said she was amazed he liked me because his girlfriends had always had short hair and to my surprise he agreed!. I became so obsessed and worried about it I went to two hairdressers one after the other and asked them to cut it short , had it completely cropped and cried bitter tears when I came home. But when he saw it although shocked at first he admitted he really liked it. At work some of the girls make fun of me and said that I look “butch” and I now feel so unfeminine when I look in the mirror but I I so want to please him I wonder how do convince him to let me grow it again without hurting him or worrying that he doesn’t find me attractive?

The truth is men tend to change there tastes in women over time, as we get older what we want from a relationship is different. He was probably very flattered that you would do be willing to do something so personal as cut off all your hair to make him happy. That doesn’t mean he will always want you to have short hair. Just let it grow and to be honest be confident in his love for you as time goes by little things like hair won’t matter.

Well my husband loves short hair, and I just recently cut mine short. It took some getting used to, but now I love it. I did it because I know he is attracted to this. Now as far as your co-workers, they dont matter. Maybe you went a little too short, but just let it grow a little and play around with different short styles. If you dont like that, then just let it grow and tell him you feel more confident with your hair long.

Why would you do that?? You cut off all your beautiful long hair just because you heard some girl say he always dated chicks with short hair? So what if you hear that he loves tatoo's all over your body... are you going to get some of those too?? He asked you out when you had long hair... obviously it didn't bother him... Sorry, but I think you did a really stupid thing. You are who you are ... and you should be proud of that. Changing your appearance for a man is just wrong....

You have always loved your long hair. Why cut it. You're now down because you tried to please him. Ignore what other people say. For all you know that girl set you up. Grow it back and find yourself. He is adding to your insecurities by commenting on your hair. If you're still down about it, change the colour. I change my hair all the time and it keeps me happy. Do what's right for you and tell others to mind their own business.

If your boyfriend said he liked your hair then why on earth would you go whack it off? So what if he liked girls with short hair in the past. He probably liked loose girls too? People change. obviously he is not into the girls he was into when he was in college. He is in to you.

Well luckily your hair will grow back.

any man who would use a hairstyle as a dealbreaker is shallow

he dated short haired women before you , yet found you attractive enough with your hair

sounds like you got suckered into a haircut you didn't want

I think your problems go much much further than just your hair.

You should wear your hair to please you, not someone else. You are insecure, and need to learn to like yourself.
