I have a trojan virus worm32.NetSky on my Dell desktop computer. My Norton AntiVirus is current and I have also the Yahoo spyware and also Super Antispyware, but still got this virus. I wanted to reset this computer even before this, but can't do it with the original discs that came with it or any other that I have, so can anybody tell me how to do this? I want to completely erase everything from this hard drive and start over.

I can't go online. A box comes up that says Windows Security Alert and then says that worm is detected on my computer. Unfortunately, we responded to offers to download fixes that didn't work. I have tried the cleaning, but I will do them again with your instructions. I also put on guards to keep from going to bad sites, and get boxes asking about those too. I tried format c: and got message that it can't be done because something was in use.

An easier way is to get rid of Norton and the Yahoo Anti spyware software. Now get a copy of PC-Cillian. There is no better antivirus program on the market.

PC Cillian can be purchased at Best Buy and others or you can go to
http://www.trendmicro.com

You can also go to
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/?WT.TM_clusty_flg=7
for a free virus scan.

And for anti spyware software, Spyware Doctor beats all the others and can be purchased from
http://www.pctools.com

As to why your restore disk do not work you have not given me enough info.

HOPEFULLY,you have an anti-virus--anti-rootkit blocker as well as at least 2 anti-spyware removers installed.
run those. if you haven't proper protect installed, before you go offline, download them from here
http://browseraddons.friendpages.com
i'd also HIGHLY reccomend downloading Firefox web browser and it's attending security extensions.

once you are cleaned up,return to system restore and create a new, clean restore point to work from in the future.

anti-virus shield:
Avast
anti spyware shield:
Spyware Blaster
AVG anti spyware
anti hijacker:
Arovax
file cleaner:
Cleaner
registry cleaner:
RegSeeker

see above link to download these

also download Firefox and the security extensions you'll find there

If you have a restore disc from Dell, you should be able to put the disc in the CD drive and reboot your computer so it boots from the CD. This should allow you to restore your computer to its virgin state. If it doesn't boot from the CD, you will have to change the bios so it will boot from the CD.
