Yes, IN AUSTRALIA.

It was in 1977 - in Canberra - not a big quake but I woke up in the middle of the night when I heard a noise and I saw my cupboard (wardrobe) shaking. Really strange feeling seeing that happening.

"i dont know if Australia has ever had one"? How old are you?
Never seen or heard of the 1989 quake in Newcastle? Google it and find out. It was probably the worst quake in Australia's living memory in terms of damage.

Cheers from southern New South Wales.

Only an extremely short one - I live in the UK and a few years back we had about a 2 second earthquake in the middle of the night. Woke me up as I was on a bunk bed!

You're lucky to live in QLD, my favourite place in the world. Thought i'd just let you know, lol...!

Yes, Mom made us stand under the door jambs. It wasn't a very big one, it was just kind of fun :)

I live in Washington. I'm more afraid of volcanoes than earthquakes! My parents remember when Mt. St. Helens erupted, and it still could some day! :O

Yup. Several in CA, and the '94 Northridge I thought was going to kill me. We had 6 big quakes that day, but the 5 others were called aftershocks, as if that makes them any less intense. Hairy.

Yeah, i live in california, i've been through countless ones. Some are really scary like ones we had a few yrs ago--and some i just sleep through. I know if someone hasn't experienced one they would be really scared.
