My wife is 7 years older than I am and we've been together 27 years. We were both broke when we got married, so finance didn't figure into it. It's just a matter who you fall in love with, and anyways age is just a number and not a a way of life.

I think it might depend on the age of the people you're talking about. A middle-aged woman might marry a younger man because they're more fun and haven't gotten old and tired yet. Not mentally and not physically. For most people it could be love and could be money. Hard to tell. Sometimes it's personality. However, if the age difference is so great that she could be his mother, then it's just really S-T-R-A-N-G-E. Then you'd suspect a money motive.
Sounds to me like you're involved in the equation somewhere and your "ex" might have said no to you and yes to a younger man and you question his motives. Am I right?
Next question for discussion is why do men marry younger women (other than the "Jennifer Effect") and nobody questions that.

My husband is 13 yrs younger than me. I dont believe financial benefits come into play. He was settled when we met.
Age will only make a difference if you let it. Every marriage has its ups and downs no matter how old or young you are.

My wife is older than me. Age is not not a factor. It is what you feel for each other. We have been married for almost 25 years and our love for each other grows stronger each passing day. If you love some one age has nothing to do with it. Women are fine wine they better with time.

Yes, mariage success depends on the extent of compatibility of the couple. However, this compitibility is vague and subjective and depends on the prioritization process of the two.
If age gets high rate from you for others it my be the least thicked.
Mostly attitudes, behaviours, lovemaking techniques and ability, beauty, social status, get highly rated.

It's a ton of reasons. Ask any guy who dates older women and you will get a different answer each time.

They are emotional more mature. Show more caring towards their partners. Age difference means nothing in a true love situation.

Nothing gained on this difference. Five is not enough to worry about....now...15....would be a different case.
