Did you know that the word POSH derived from p and o, supposedly. The wealthy people years ago sailing from a particular port ( cant remember which one !) chose a cabin which had the sun leaving port, and when returning. Port Out, Starboard Home......

P&O Nedlloyd was absorbed by Maersk Lines. You may see old PONL containers in service. The company doesn't exist anymore.

and the Oriental is pretty self explanatory...the Peninsular refers to the Spanish/Portuguese's Iberian peninsular, which is where they ran their first ships, from England to Cadiz and Lisbon...
