Congratulations - wait until you are at least 7 weeks since your last period and make an appointment to see your Doctor who will arrange for you to see the midwives, who will then take all the necessary blood samples etc., if you are in the UK, expect to have 3 blood samples taken, these will check for your iron levels, check for anti-bodies and any nasty virus's, but all being well these will come back fine. Also as a fellow sister try to keep your iron levels up as much as possible, good green veg, cereals this will help ensure less problems with blood loss on delivery. Start taking folic acid if you have not already been doing so, i recommend sanatogen pro-natal for use throughout and after pregnancy. When the sickness starts which could be around 8 weeks gestation, dry crackers, ginger biscuits, ginger tea, anti-sickness wrist bands may help, worth trying, but may not work for you, they didn't for me. Avoid all blue vein cheeses, brie, camembert, no more thank 2 tins of tuna, no raw fish either. make sure all your meat is cooked thoroughly, no raw or partially cooked eggs either. Lots of fresh fruit n veg.
Finally, this is very important, but you will also need to obtain the necessary document from your PO who will contact the HLC.
Many congratulations any further q's just email me. happy to help.

That's great news! Now, see a very good doctor, eat healthy foods, drink lots of water, take your vitamins, surround yourself with positive influences, take daily walks, make the necessary preparations for a new baby, then just put a smile on your face and be happy.
A baby is a precious gift from heaven and I pray your little one will be healthy and filled with laughter!
Take care and God bless.

Congratulations!
Book an appointment with the Doctors after Christmas to confirm your pregnancy. You should also start taking prenatal vitamins and folic acid. Cut out alcohol and cigarettes if you smoke!

start taking a daily prenatal vitamin and make an appointment to go to an OB doctor to have the pregnancy confirmed and receive instructions for how to alter your diet and lifestyle to ensure the health of the growing embryo.
meantime, avoid alcohol and drugs, including over the counter medications, until your physician can give you a list of safe medications for during pregnancy.
