strange misprints that came up in the Washingtons? Is it more valuable to open that case ( I understand the one "faceless" coin is worth $60,000) or will they be more collectible because they are in teh original federal wrappers?. For what it's worth I just intend to toss them in a drawer until the whole series comes out

2nd related question. One of my evil progeny went into the drawer and stole all the Thomas Jeffersons and the banks no longer have them. Where is a good (CHEAP) source for fed wrapped jefferson dollars?

First of all did you buy them from the mint or get them from a bank. If from a bank they were wrapped as well as counted at the nearest Federal Reserve Bank not the mint. The paper used is not acid free and in the end will tone the edges of the coins. if moisture gets into the paper as it can do in the summer, it can then tone more of the coin. It is best not to worry about the wrapper for not too many people collect them but they do coins. Get some coin tubes and put the coins in them. You may also find an error coin. Get some coin gloves if you intend to go through rolls of dollars for the oils on your hand will cause damage. The dollar coins were supposed to circulate but they won't as long as the dollar bill is still printed. Banks only usually get the new ones coming out and the Federal Reserve has no system for reording the older ones. You can go ask some local banks if they have any of the older ones if not you will pay a premium from a dealer who has plenty. I would not worry about Jefferson but get some extra Madison that came out last, for the made at least 200 million less that the others.

Rolled coins are uncirculated, don't go searching for a myth. The faceless coins never make it into circulation. As for the evil progeny, if they stole the roll then they need to replace it. It's time for some old fashioned work ethnics to be put in place. Get out the shovels and start digging that new pool you wanted!
