Always follow your dream. If you think you can be a pro player and don't try, you will always wonder. If you try but don't make it, at least you will know you gave it your best shot.
Still, its important to remember that dedication to sports doesn't mean you should ignore everything else in life. While you play soccer in high school and college make sure you get a good education in a field where you can make a good career for yourself.
You need to keep in mind that off all those on the planet, only a relative few play any kind of sport professionally. That's especially true at the top level. While many millions have the desire and the ball skills, only a handful have the natural world-class speed needed to play professionally.
At your age don't give up on anything, but also make sure you build the foundation for a non-athletic career as well.

Never, ever give up on your dreams! Don't listen to those fools who only want to discourage you from achieving your dreams. Set your goals high and dedicate yourself to reach them. While you are playing college soccer make sure you also get an education while you are there. There are often obstacles beyond your control that can be encountered along the way. For instance, you may become a professional but experience a career-ending injury somewhere along the way. If you have an education then you should be able to make an easy transition from soccer player to business. Or you may become a successful soccer player with a large income. Again, your higher education will have you in a better position to manage your finances.
Hold on tight to your dreams, and don't bother listening to the antagonistic comments of others.
Best of luck to you. I hope you do well and show the doubters how to make your dreams a reality.

You know those who became soccer players were people with little education or not even any education at all. I do love it and want to become a pro as well but it's better to stay in school and go to University and pursue a job which is respected around the world (doctor, lawyer are some examples) Football is just for fun and for entertainment.

Use your dream to spur you to achieve but don't have a view that a footballer is dumb except for football. Many are good managers, good with people, interested in the world, able to talk interestingly to others and plan and spend money wisely on things that matter.
So you see, some footballers have the skills to be good teachers or business men but others only know how to kick a ball and can't stay away from naughty girls, drink and drugs. So which is the better footballer. The "just do it" "football is all" dumb guy, or the all rounder who gets an education and does football?

KEEP YOUR DREAM BUDDY!
if your a good soccer player you should look for an agent (if your really serious) or try out for a club that is very well known in your area.. some clubs have training to make you a professional athlete and they have contact with big name clubs like manchester united, barcelona, real madrid etc..
even if you are one of the best soccer players in your area, you should ALWAYS put your education before it. if something goes wrong (leg brakes, permenately damage your body) you will have some kind of degree or high school education to fall back on.
good luck.

I don't wanna kill your dream but just think of the odds. How many professional soccer players are there? How many people in the world want to be a professional soccer player? The odds are almost impossible. The smart thing to do is stay in school, go to college and try and make something of yourself. You can still play soccer at the same time and try to make it pro but get a degree to have something else to fall back on.

Pursue your dream. You don't want to say later that you regretted on giving up your dream to become a football player. While you are a playing, perhaps you can also start planning for the long-term. That's when the business aspect will kick in.

Keep up those good form.Maybe there is a football scout interested in you and might help you get a trial for any football club.I am currently training for getting attention from a scout.I want to play in Germany b'cos I am sick of watching English football hogging the spotlight.Pro football is my First class ticket to a life in Europe. If not,I have to write a book or become a Social Science Expert.
