At 97 years old, grandma has earned the right to hit anyone she chooses with mashed potatoes. I think the whole family would sit for a second in stunned silence and then break a few ribs from laughing so hard.

My grandma is in heaven already and I don't think angels do such things, but I would be delighted if she ever would fling food at me! Just because I miss her so much! And because it would be really funny to see her do something like that! I can just imagine having grandma and all my cousins around a table and the food fight starts, instigated by her. We are 27 cousins. Wow!
May she rest in peace!

I would respond by allowing the delicious potatoes time to be "salted" by my sweaty skin and then I would enjoy them with a glass of red wine and a dinner roll.

Did she apologize? If not I would ask her what she was doing. Even if it was an accident she needs to apologize. If she didn't do so I would tell her it was rude not to apologize.. She may be your grandmother but that doesn't make her exempt from using her manners.

Am I the only one that believes in manners? I don't care if a person is 1 or 100. There is NEVER a reason to be so rude at the table. Age does not give anyone the right to behave badly on purpose or be rude and not apologize for accidents.

If your grandma did it on purpose then throw some back....for revenge (just play around) but it was by accident then wipe it off

My grandma has been dead for 7 years now, I think I'd be freaked out more about that then the foodfight.

both my grandmas have been gone for over 25 years, so i would be ecstatic to see either of them! but i would also be in shock because neither of them would ever think of wasting a scrap of food by flinging it!

I'd pour gravy over her head, then not speak to her the rest of the day.
