Crank up the volume in your car and sing your heart out. Songs that make you feel good. Put it on an oldies station so that you know all of the songs and recognize some that you haven't heard in a long time.

It depends on your personality but I'll give you some possible ways ro choose from.

1. Ask, Answer or discover something here in Y! Answers.
2. Draw something that would make you feel better.
3. Take anti-depressant pills (um, not advisable actually..hehe)
4. Go out and shop all the way.
5. Eat plenty of food.
6. Sleep
7. talk to a friend by any means.
8. Write what you've experienced during the time u r depressed in your diary or in small piece of paper. ( it's for you either to keep it or burn it after)
9. watch some movies/shows that can make you laugh.
10. Think about the root of your depression and ask yourself if it's worth to be depressed.
11. set your mind not to be deppressed.. (even though it's hard, Just try)
12. Hear classical music to make up your mind.

I hope it helped.

Goodluck, God Bless and Merry Christmas!

P.S. Tell me which is the most effective when you've overcome your depression.

Tough thing to ask. First of all what is causing the depression. Second of all are you talking to friends or family about the depression? Even if it's a distant relative like an uncle or aunt, the more you discuss in how you feel depressed the more you come to a solution.

Look for new hobbies and try to find a job or volunteer work that is focused in helping others. You may be having depression as you may not have found a purpose in a social setting. Getting a job in in an enviroment your talents excell in is a start or volunteering at a local clinic, church, or station may help you out of that depression.

If you're having family or intimate issues, you need to seek professional help as soon as possible and discussion the issues at hand. Not doing otherwise will lead to further complications.

If it is mild to moderate depression, you can usually heal yourself.

Depression is usually caused by anger directed inwards. The anger festers and a person reacts by taking it out on him/herself mentally.

Self-explore why you are angry. Deal with it. Forgive, if it's appropriate.

That is the mental examination part of depression. Physically, exercise.

Exercise releases endorphins which rid depression and make you feel good - hence the name 'feel good hormones'.

Take Omege 3 Oil supplements. They're a mood booster and also good for your overall health.

It is good if you are spiritual. Reconnect with your 'oneness'.

Love someone passionately or have a passion for something you do. Both are mood enhancers.

If the above does not remedy the situation, then it's time to call in the big guns - a psychiatrist. Medication can be prescribed to help you out of the depression and clear your mind so you think clearly.

You will then be able to deal with your issues and get rid of your anger and any other emotional problems you're experiencing. I hope this has helped you. Feel better.

life is too short to waste it on depression and sadness
someday u would regret the time u wasted on bad feelings and time cant be restored so why lose it to depression
plus what is life all about?
u'll never have ups if u dont have downs it wud be just tasteless
so take advantage of everytime u feel depressed to do the things that really make u happy and those are many in life
i dont know if u believe in god
but he loves u and wants u to be happy
so dont be cruel on urself nothig is worth being depressed for
u deserve to be happy
but its not like the end of life if u felt unhappy sometime
its the cycle of life
this is what makes us stronger
u have plenty of time to think of the good things around u, look for them and they will be there for u, u just cant see them because u chose not to.
also the nice feelings u hold for ur loved ones can help u get through this
do things that make people happy around u
happiness is not only the pleasure u obtain
but the one u give to people
good luck

- Start changing your life style - go beyond your comfort zone and do special things like if you speak try and listen, if you listen try to speak up, try a new flavoured ice cream etc.

- Believe that only you are responsible for your happiness. So try look for self development resources

- Believe that solution to every issue you face resides INSIDE YOU! You are the only true expert on yourself, others are only consultants helping you change

- Look into spiritual or religious resources, may be you are looking for some meaning in your life

- Join a group sport or take up some exercise activity

- Listen to relaxation music. Go to movies

Good Luck!

Hey dont worry! =) depressions are only temporary and the easiest way to get out of 'em is to socialize. go to the mall, the movies, anywhere! Talk and meet new people. Oh and dont take antidepressers...if thats how you spell it because they get you fat and thats may just cause more reasons to be depressed.
